I took off two days to help my parents stain there deck,never mind I told them 10 years ago not to paint it because it will crack and peel and you can't walk on it,they painted it anyway and the next year,because the wood didn't have time to cure it peeled off and looked like crap. So now they believe me but they don't want to go pick out the stain or rent a powerwasher,so I borrowed one from a friend saving 60 dollars,now there complaining about how much stain will cost,and every concievable excuse. Parents can be a pain.  Craig

I was reading my old blogs and discovered I promised to write about another one of my rescues saving people on a mountain,this is my worst one involving my personal health. It was my second year as a ranger in Teton National Park and I got a call on my CB saying three people were 2 days late on the Grand teton mountain around 8pm. A spotter had located the three climbers 3 hours earlier and they were defenitely in trouble. This was only my fourth rescue and I was scared because the Grand had given me problems in the past but it was my job and 3 other more experienced climbers were helping also. The climbers were not very experienced with no guide with them and they were about three quarters high on the mountain. The helicopter took us a little over halfway up the mountain,and luckily we could walk most of the way to the climbers except for 2 easy climbs. We got to the climbers after about 4 hours and they just were scared and cold so we started bringing them back down. It took 7 hours to get them to the helicopter that came back and landed on a glacier. Stupid unexperienced me grabbed the most hurt one and started taking him to the helicopter,not paying close attention,and I fell in a 30 ft. crevice breaking my back and right foot,thank god the person with me was 30 ft. back conected to mel behind him. Well now my life is in danger so the other rescuers took all the people that were trapped and took them to the helicopter and took them to the hospital in jackson hole. All my friends stayed and mel had to be lowered to me to strap me up and pull me out,by that time the helicopter was back and I guess you know where they took me. It was very embarassing but my friends made me feel better when they told me there similar stupid mistakes. I was in the hospital for over a month but made a full recovery and was a ranger on the rescue squad for another 5 years.God has always been on my shoulder and I know its because I have strong carma for saving so many lives,I still have troubles in life and if I died tomorrow I would go knowing I did my best to be nice,caring,and put my life on the line to help our fellow man and woman,but I went through the most pain that I thought wasnt possible for 2 weeks and they were debating to put me in a coma because they thought the pain was to overwelming and I have a super tolerance to pain and I told them I would rather die than possibly never wake up. I swore I would never write about this but after 18 years maybe it will help sombody else even though I doubt anybody reads this,I definetely would never print it in a news paper,  Roboter

You know I have been studying this trend for the last 3 years and the main reason I believe we the ice caps are melting is because I can see it as its happening. The national snow and ice center located in denver CO. shows all the sattelite images as the caps melt and this year they have photographic,radar and microwave proof not only the caps are melting but Antarcia. Its a shame there are so many people obvlious to this situation. Even the bush administration has said global warming is crap and not true until president bush realised he was making a fool of himself by saying that so the last few weeks he has called it climate change. Twenty years ago we had a substancial amount of sea ice on the north polar ice cap,now this year it has shrunk by 50% in twenty years. I personaly dont think there is a cure for it and we will be without ice on both polar caps in 30 to 60 years. That means the oceans will flood florida,new york, and all the places 100s of miles in from every coast and everyone will try to move to dry land and basically make the united states about half our size it is now. All the top scientists agree this is happening except for a very few who say its a natural warming trend but natural trends dont happen in 20 years its more like 1000 years. The bush administration has called global warming a crock until the last few weeks when they realised they looked so stupid to all americans they changed there minds and called it climate change,thats a major reason I knew global warming was real when bush said it wasnt real,when the biggest lier in presidential history says a statement you can bet your ass he's wrong. Wheres all the killer gas and earth ending munitions he said were in Iraq.Scientists dont go by opinion they only state what they can prove or its there reputation they ruin forever and since 90% agree with the warming trend I believe them and if you dont by now look up National snow and ice center and see all the melting around the world first hand,and if anybody has an opinion on this matter,dont hold back,let it rip and tell our group your opinion,thats what this group is for,maybe you have a different opinion,great,lets hear it,  Roboter

I have all my climbing gear ready to go to Montana and climb Crazy mountain with my uncle,I have already postponed it once last month because of the weather,and now my uncle who was going with me has changed his mind and doesn't want to tackle it this year,and you never go climbing with somebody who says something like that,you'll get hurt or killed for sure if you were able to talk him into it,I learned that a long time ago. Im kind of glad anyway because I think this year I want to do something more relaxing,I haven't gone scuba diving for 7 years and I just got off the phone with my buddy frank who lives in cancun mexico and he said to come on down and thats what im going to do,the main problem is you never want to leave when you get there.Frank taught me to dive in a swimming pool in 15 min. and an hour later I was 100 ft. down under the ocean with these tremendous rapids trying to take me out to sea. Supposedly its one of the most dangerous places to dive because of those rapids,the strongest almost anywhere to dive in. But I can't imagine just diving in a place where its perfectly calm,whats the fun in that,there's no danger as far as im concerned,and thats part of the fun,isn't it. I even went night diving with frank and his partner,we would go down around 110 ft. and these octopuses would wrap themselves around you and we would bring them back on the boat,the only reason I did it was because I ate some in a resterant and they tasted so good,and frank was there also and he said they were going to go get some tonight and invited me,so I had to go. I have never eaten one since,just havent had the opportunity. I will have plenty of time to eat them this summer,I will stay at franks place and he said I can just go with him everyday helping him and dive for free.I will of course pay him,probably 500 dollars for a week of fun and its a small fortune to him so we both will come out happy. My uncle thinks im still coming up to fish and hike and ride around in his helicopter,but ive lived in the mountains almost half my life and ill go to montana when Jim takes me up my damn mountain,im still sick of fishing and hiking and those helicopters are great for pulling off a hurt climber,thats intense and fun and gives you a sense of probably saving a life but to just fly around sightseeing is boring to me,but if he could get me on his military jet id be there in a week,but theres no way no how ive been told,I guess ill never go faster than a bullet,so this year instead of climbing up in the sky im going to glide way down,spear some fish,do some night diving and see how far down I can possibly go.  Roboter 

I had one of my best friends while growing up in a small town for some strange reason he decided to leave his great job in Houston and go back to the small town where we grew up. It didn't take him long to start acting like a teenager,got in good with another good friend of mine who now dealt meth,hung around all his old partying friends and in less than a year he was dead,from alchohol and meth. Not only that nobody found him for over two weeks after he died. I guess he thought he had some real friends in that town,but to be laying dead on the floor without anybody checking up on him or just coming over,nobody locks there door,shows me he had no real friends in that town. I have had maybe 3 or 4 real friends in my life not counting family,my definetion of a real friend is bailing you out of jail or picking you up when your stranded,something that they have to go way out of there way to help you. I had two real friends left last year,Steve died for no apparent reason and Jim had a horrible accident that left him half paralysed and brain damaged. I still go see jim every chance I get hoping he will snap out of it but the truth be known besides a few lucky encounters that evolve into a true friendship your real friends are your family. My family would do anything for me and I think there are a lot of people out there who might have 10 friends they believe are true ones but sooner or later they will find out that it is closer to 2 or 3. I have had friends that have stolen money or jewely who I thought would do anything for our friendship,thats how I felt. I guess bottom line what im trying to say is its real easy to have a friend but a true friend like family is very rare to find.  Roboter

I have had a strange experience that I should warn men about. This wonderful girl got into my life and after some time she wanted to move in. I said cool,shes nice and pretty and I knew I was a expert on evaluating women. To make a long story short after 3 months of living very happy she stole me blind while I was at work,but she left my bed,computer and something else I can't remember,it probably wasn't worth mentioning. She got away with 4000 dollars of stuff,I should be mad,I just got back with a microwave under my arm. The sad part is if she showed up on my doorstep with only the clothes on her back I would take her back. Love can really mess your mind up and make it into a moron. She hurt me so bad it was the same feeling when I broke up with my first intimate girlfriend,correction she broke up with me,I feel like a freshman in high school. But im tough,sniffles,and ill grow from this experience. I guess what im trying to say is all women are after your soul and will kill your heart forever and she will enjoy every memory of destroying you. Seriously though im kidding,women are the angels of the earth and I will get my angel because I like to be loved and have someone by my side I can trust with my life. But jesus it can take so long to find the right one,but I already have my eye on one who looks at me with sheer passion,probably another killer but im game to try her out,Good luck guys  Craig

I know women are sometimes the greatest things on earth,they smell nice,are gentle and kind and they can bowl you over before you know whats happened. This is to the women who are related to a rattlesnake,strike you before you realize what happened. Have you ever noticed when the snake is ready to pounce she usually uses a phone or some other way to stay at arms length. They can cut you down to ribbons and chew and swallow the rest without even a burp. I usually have a keen sense of how a woman will react and use my judgement,but these last 6 months I have been caught by total surprise by the evilness of the rattle,and now im very wary who I talk to when I meet them. I wish I had a device that showed there inside attitude so I could stay clear of the nasty ones who have no care of who's feelings they smash into pebbles. I feel sorry for them but mostly feel bad for the idiot who hooks up with the wench,Thats the problem,the witch could hook up with a man or woman,they don't care who they destroy,just as long as they destroy beyond repair. Well im to tough to be destroyed,I have too many nice backups. But in the future I will work on a crazy ignorn't meter to find out in time on who to avoid.  Roboter

I was watching a tv program on FX and there question was is there a way to kill a bear with your hands.The name of the show was mananswers. First they got with a proffesional bear handler and he said that there have been no record in history of anyone killing a bear with just his hands. Then they went to this strange kung foo guy who said it was possible with makoota style punches and kicks. He said his teacher killed a water buffallo with one punch to the face. He explained you keep your punching hand slightly loose and then all at once let it go in a punch of fury and connect with the middle two nuckles,then do a spinning makoota kick,and then just a standing makoota kick. He really looked weak demonstraiting how to kill a bear with no weapons. Since a wild bear is at least 10 times stronger than a man I wish somebody would offer him 500,000 dollars to try and kill a bear. With the pay per view and film rights lets see if this fool will put his words as fact or is he just another lieing idiot. Iv'e seen film of a bear running full speed into the side of a car door,he put a 4 foot wide dent in the door and bounced off it like nothing had happened. I wish I had the money to offer this fool to take on a wild 1000 pd bear,just because he went on tv and said he could do it. It would be like a bull fight without the spears or swords,in fact we could stage it as the final event in mexico at the bull fights,yea,thats the ticket.  Roboter

I commented earlier on the rescue mission me and my forest ranger buddies did in the late 80's,luckily two people survived but six people did not. I would be remiss if I left out the plane wreck that took 21 lives in 1950,november 21st around 5pm on the same mountain. It was a group of 21 people who were part of the New Tribes Mission,and one of the founders Lance Latham was onboard of the doomed plane.The plane was a C-47 or cargo version of a DC-3.In the 50's we didn't have the weather technology we do today and the plane flew into a snow storm.It flew in a circle when the snow got so thick,went up to 12,000 feet,but Mt. Moran was 12,605 ft.high. The big plane smashed into the mountain with a great fireball,said many witnesses. There were two attemps to get to the plane but were turned back by bad weather. On the third attempt Paul Petzoldt located the plane,but with the location in such a hazzardous place it was impossible to bring down any parts of the plane or any of the dead. After the climb to try and rescue anybody, Paul Petzodlt gave himself to Christ. The plane and bodies are still on the mountain and the National Park Service recomends not to climb to that sacred site. I should have wrote about this tragedy first instead of almost gloating about my mission that would never have succeded if god was not with me at that time. Just writing about this brings alot of what I do in perspective. The way I feel right now is my life would not have amounted to much without gods help and I know he took all those people off Mt. Moran early because he had a special mission for them,and I hope all of us see that special mission at the end of our lives.  Roboter

Two hours until I go to work and since I can't sleep I feel like telling you all that deep down I have done some crazy,almost stupid things in my life. At 15 I went to climbing camp for 3 weeks not knowing I was afraid of heights.I overcame that fear knowing that if I completed the course my grandpa was going to climb a very tall mountain with me someday.I tell you what,hanging up over a cliff with a 3/8th inch thick rope holding you up 300ft. in the air was the hardest thing to get used to,trust your rope,it took me 2 weeks to finally trust it,but whan you finally do you have the hard part whipped,at least for me.I cruised that last week and was one of the youngest ever to pass the course.Learning to climb was a big help in getting to be a forest ranger,many people got trapped on the mountains in the summer and since I also was part of the rescue team it was up to us to get a lot of people down who had no business being up there.It seemed like every time I went on a rescue the inexperienced one would almost kill me,one time an idiot took off my life line and I climbed down with him on my shoulders for 100ft. until I noticed,I almost threw him off my shoulders so he could experience what his life line was for,I tell you if you knew some of the people I rescued before they got in trouble you would say HIM,let him rot,he's not worth saving. I have had people cuss me out when we got to the helicopter saying I was to rough and they were going to sue me. I also have people to this day who send me a card of thanks on the anniversity of there rescue.The worst part of that job was being to late to help them,always when we got there to late they had run into bad weather and had hypothermia,we had a lot of those through the summers but we averaged 6to1 in saving people,sometimes no matter how fast you get up the mountain its not fast enough.I have broken my back and crushed my heal to pebbles but after surgery I was good as new,I still don't know what they replaced my heel with,but they did put a steel rod in my back.I have many stories where I barely survived,some I had no control over,some by making a big mistake,can't write them all now what will I write next week.  Roboter
